Time to explore beyond Klang Valley?

As always, I would like to take this convenience to thank every single reader out there and more so to those who took the time to email The Snob at thecaffeinesnob@gmail.com

Dear Snob,
My utmost respect for you in exposing the truth in coffee shops and please continue to serve the community who actually cares for coffee.
I recently moved to Sentul and I came across a relaxing café, three little birds. It is a great hangout spot with my friends on Fridays and Saturdays. Though it may be packed at times, it is the only cafes in town that are open till midnight since places normally closes before ten. I would like know your take on the café.
-Nathan

Once upon a time on my Sunday drives I made my way to a place called D7 through one of if not the tightest parking of parking lots, I found three little bird café. It is highly advised to drive a smart for two or the smallest car available in your garage.
Frankly, I like that place. An upscale-ish landmark in the middle of the rougher parts of Kuala Lumpur. The sense of insecure where you stand a chance to get mugged since guards are not to be seen in the premises.
On to serious matters, coffee by 3 Little Birds were positive until soon after that where is became somewhat over roasted. It is another kind of thing where you love it or don’t. I personally don’t. It is also one of the first places to serve red latte/ fresh red (coffee with milk infused with a dose of rooibos).
Worst of all, is the building in this building. They are not only the dirtiest and smelliest toilets I’ve ever been to but a breeding centre for dengue mosquitoes. I highly recommend to hold one in unless you’ve already got malaria.

Hail the Snob,
Love your column as they take my mind off dreadful work days and allows me to have something to look forward to the weekend. So it seems like there isn’t many new cafes lately, could you recommend some that are not in the Klang Valley?
-Alex C

First and foremost, apologies on the slight absence since the Snob could be lightly involved in developing the city of Johor Bharu because when conditions aren’t favourable, there is always a way out. On a more serious note, if you do find yourself down south, you are in for a treat at coffee houses that far exceeded my expectations.
Just to name a couple, Gent Utopia and Bev C puts many cafes in the Klang Valley to shame. If I had to choose, it’d be the former as their coffee is tailored to my tastes buds. The latter isn’t remotely shabby because a cup simply wouldn’t be enough and a full ten for ambience.
