Closer of Mutiara Damansara

Closer Espresso Kitchen
I must say Closer looks pleasant in pictures and quite so in person although a little too sunny to my liking so I found myself more at home at McLaren’s. For a change, I went for a Flat White (at RM11) instead of the usuals and the taste of their coffee beans for the day was too acidic (achtung gastric patients). It tasted better in the palate having it left to breathe much like Penfolds’ BIN 407 I had the day before.

My best description for Closer Espresso Bar is plain sailing where there isn’t much to fault and nothing much to praise. Well people (only the locals) running the store greets you, the place is spacious and at least there are outdated Monocle magazines to keep one from leaving.. but not me.

Despite that, the Snob will be back on a late evening when they decide to have a change of beans. Worst of all, they close at 8.

The Snob returned to Closer in the month of September to find rather excellent cups of coffee, both in terms of presentation and in taste. Kindly ask for the local barista, opt for Colombian beans and you’re in for some proper coffee better served hot even though cold is priced identically at RM 11. Not only can I get my caffeine addiction fixed at somewhere relatively close to where I'm living but I could admire the beauty of my ride while doing so.

If the local barista is not around, which is frequent, leave immediately as Closer’s coffee will turn out very acidic which is perfect if you’d like to upset your stomach. And the sassy attitude from New Zealand, no thank you.
